An Interview with Saddie LaMort, Singer, Occultist, and the Co-Founder of Berkano Wicca

Today, we have a truly unique and mysterious guest with us, none other than Saddie LaMort. Singer, songwriter, occultist, wiccan, founder of the Berkano Wicca tradition. I have the privilege of delving into the enigmatic world of his and uncovering the secrets that shroud this intriguing individual. Without further ado, let's get on this interview:

Atomm: -You are a co-founder of the Berkano Wicca tradition. Can you provide us with an overview of this tradition, its core principles, and how it distinguishes itself within the broader pagan and Wiccan community?

Saddie: - The Berkano Wicca Tradition, like many other things in my life, was born out of necessity. We started out as a neowicca group, but we were always dedicated to using the best and most reliable sources for all our work. In this case, that was Traditional Wicca, obviously, so I started studying that, and I was initiated into the Gardnerian Craft in 2007. People in Hungary kept coming to me asking for training, but I had no right to initiate, therefore I had to recreate the tradition in a way that I do not give out initiatory secrets, but do pass the mentality, the concepts and the mysteries on in a slightly different way that’s still in keeping with what I learned. Being part of other initiatory orders and mystery schools like Ordo Templi Orientis, diverse branches and offshoots of A.’.A.’., or Dashwood’s Hellfire Club amongst others, as well as studying Freemasonry and Solomonic Grimoire Tradition helped me rephrase the teachings and mysteries - after all, that’s where Gardner got them from in the first place. 

Atomm: -As an influential spiritual guide in Hungary, you have a significant following. What topics or aspects of spirituality do you find resonate most with your Hungarian audience, and how do you approach sharing your wisdom and insights with them?

Saddie: - Alas, Hungary is way behind the Western world in many things. Magic seems to be exclusively associated with folk magic practices like love binding spells and cartomancy. Tarot is exclusively used as a fortune telling tool. What we are trying to achieve is to show that it’s supposed to be much more than that. It is a tradition and a way of life based on the perfection of the human soul, with the aim to achieve a happy life, and the history of it is worthy of academic recognition. The current method to convey these is by example, as well as giving talks, lectures, publishing books, we also have a YouTube channel. My great friend, the psychologist Balazs Polyanki, who owns demonologia.hu also invited me to do a podcast with him on these subjects, and are also trying to get a TikTok account together. So much to do, so little time!

Atomm:-You are currently in the process of publishing a deluxe version of Liber AL vel Legis, the most holy book of Thelema, that was channeled by Aleister Crowley in 1904. Why did you choose that project and what should we know about it?

Saddie:- The Book of the Law is not only a holy book, but a manifesto of freedom, a rulebook for social equality, a guide to spiritual growth, a blueprint for creating one’s own religion, and a Book of Wisdom in the Masonic sense all in one, it is probably one of the most important spiritual documents of the 20th century. Yet in Hungary the only publicly available published version was translated by someone who obviously did not understand the subject matter, and did not handle the text with the care needed for such a task. The 120th anniversary of the writing of this book is upon us, so I thought there should be a version that is worthy of it. The translation was done with the utmost care to include as many possible interpretations of the original as the language allowed, and it was proof-read, re-written and perfected since 2005 - 18 years. Dark red faux leather hardcover with gold design inspired by the cover of its first published version in Equinox vol I, no. 10, red bookmark ribbon, golden edges, the text both in Hungarian and English as well as reproduction of the original manuscript, it might even be of interest to collectors abroad. There will be a book launch party along with a lecture on Crowley and the Book of the Law at the ELTE Library on the 28th of October. 

Atomm:-Music is another facet of your creativity and spirituality. How does your music connect with your pagan beliefs, and what role does it play in your spiritual practice and expression?

Saddie:- I started playing the guitar when I was 15, wrote my first serious song when I was 18, and wrote my first album, Songs of the Initiate when I was 20. It was already touching on spiritual, occult and religious subjects. 28 years later I’m still writing similar stuff, trying to explain occult truths and life lessons set in everyday situations. You can find my music on pretty much any streaming platform. 

Atomm:-In addition to Wicca, you offer sessions on various spiritual topics such as tarot and runes, etc.  Can you share some key takeaways or advice for those who are new to these practices and seeking to explore their spiritual potential?

Saddie:- Source criticism is indispensable. You can read 50 modern books on the meaning of runes, but probably all of them will go back to one guy around the 80s, who just wrote down his personal experience and a whole lot of unsupported rubbish about history. However, reading the Anglos-Saxon, Icelandic, Norwegian and Swedish Rune Poems will give you a much deeper insight into what the runes actually meant, and if you base your practice on those, you will be much closer to a genuine experience. Information evaluation is also very important, when dealing with variations of the same path. Modern Hermetic Kabbalah is based on the works of Christian Kabbalists like Mirandola and Reuchlin, who in turn based their work on translated Lurian texts. These sources were picked up by Freemasons like the founders of the Golden Dawn back in a time when Hebrew was neither really accessible, nor a living standardized language, so even the language used is incorrect. However, people like Mathers and Crowley tweaked everything in a way that doesn’t make sense from a Traditional Kabbalah, but fits perfectly into the system of Hermeticism, or specifically Thelema. 

Atomm:-Paganism is a diverse and evolving community. What trends or developments in the international pagan scene have caught your attention recently, and how do you think they might influence the future of pagan spirituality?

Saddie:- I have not been very active in the international community outside of a few specific groups for a long time, but the issues I see are the issues we see everywhere. Internet development like TikTok result in a decline of young people’s ability to focus for longer periods of time, however the amount of accessible quality information of all subjects grows exponentially. The challenge is balancing the two and presenting the same eternal truths in ways that are digestible today. It’s no different than what sages faced with the advent of the printing press, or the invention of writing. All occult renessainces were preceded by revolution of information dissemination. 

Atomm:-As you know this interview is being written for the readers of the Order of the Golden Dragon's Blog (in English and Hungarian).

We'd be fascinated to learn if you have already heard of us and how do you see our role within the broader pagan community?

Saddie: - Of course I have. It’s good to see a group in Hungary that actually does something. 

Atomm:-Can you describe a particularly impactful or transformative moment in your personal spiritual journey that has shaped your approach to teaching and guiding others within the pagan community?

Saddie:- It was way back in my youth, around 2000. At that time we had been training for a huge ritual for years, and that night was no different. About 20 of us were up on Seer Hill practicing magical drills, perfecting our self-awareness, creating protection. Exhausted, I sat down, and realized that the Sun was coming up. I watched in awe as light poured through the treetops into the clearing where we were, and at that moment every particle of my being filled up with the experience of how beautiful life is. Achieving this particular experience, and extending it to fill one’s life is the aim of true magic, and that is exactly what it taught me. 

Atomm:-As someone with extensive experience in various aspects of paganism, what advice would you offer to individuals who are exploring their spiritual path and seeking to connect with like-minded communities or mentors?

Saddie:-Always be prepared to start from zero. It doesn’t matter how much experience you had with Druidism, you will have to start over as a Thelemite, and even if you’ve been doing both for decades, you’ll have to start again as a Witch. Each path has its own symbols, its own mysteries, its own language, and you will have to learn it from the start if you want to be any good at it. Starting again is not a punishment, it’s an opportunity to build a complete system in your head specifically for that path. Never be afraid of learning, even if that means you have to start again.

The Journey of Self-Discovery: Exploring Family Constellations and Horoscope Setup for Deeper Insight

Welcome everyone to this special interview! Today, we're delving into a topic that may still be mysterious to many but is equally fascinating. It holds the potential to take us even further on the path to successful self-discovery. Family constellations and planet-horoscope setups are two areas that can assist us on our journey of personal growth and healing.

In this interview, we'll get a glimpse into the world of family constellations and planet-horoscope setups. We hope that these conversations will intrigue you and pique your interest to explore these methods for self-awareness and personal development.

Atomm: Hello Mikolta! First, could you explain what family constellations are and how they work?

Mikolta: Family constellations primarily work with the family system (parents, ancestors, and related concepts) to resolve transgenerational issues. Let me provide a few examples. Someone may have financial issues, which could stem from their father's side or even from significant losses experienced by their ancestors (such as during nationalization or asset confiscation). Relationship problems in the present might be influenced by unresolved past relationships or incorrect patterns learned from parents. It could also be connected to unfulfilled love within the family lineage, impacting their destiny. It's also quite common for a child to take on one of their parents' roles, which can hinder their future partner selection. Essentially, we work with the family unconscious, so family secrets and the aspects that affect descendants play a significant role. For instance, there may be hidden or excluded family members whose fate the descendant unconsciously takes on.

In group family constellations, we always work with a small group, ideally no more than 10, but usually around 7-8 participants. There's a questioner who presents their issue, and representatives in the group embody the questioner's internal dynamics and family system. Representatives draw sensations, emotions, thoughts from the informational field around them related to the questioner's system. The questioner assigns roles to the representatives one by one, and they share what they perceive in their respective positions and roles. The facilitator guides the process, vocalizing what's happening within the representatives, and if necessary, using resolution sentences to facilitate healing within the system. Multiple constellations can take place in one day, and in some cases, the questioner can also participate as a representative. It's often observed that representatives are not randomly chosen for their roles; there's significance and a lesson for them in the positions they assume.

Atomm: How does planetary and horoscope setups play a role in family constellations, and why did you choose this holistic approach?

Mikolta: The work with the informational field was popularized by Bert Hellinger, and initially, as I mentioned earlier, it was primarily used for healing family systems. The method's effectiveness and brilliance are evident as it has been around for several decades, and various branches have grown out of it, all of which also work with the informational field. Today, we have techniques like somatic drama (which deals with illnesses and has representatives take on roles in different body parts), story constellations (using story characters), and organizational constellations (arranging representatives for organizational members).

Planet and horoscope setups work with the astrological archetypes present within us. In this type of setup, I retrieve the person's natal chart and position the planets from it within the space. The birth planets and axes represent their inner facets, their internal system. To facilitate this, I use Symbolon cards, placing representatives on them. Since this method requires more participants than traditional family constellations, a person might be placed on several cards.

I chose this approach because I've been involved in astrology for over 20 years. What sets it apart significantly from family constellations is that I delve deeper into astrological intuition and expertise. Additionally, the birth chart acts as a karmic condensation. What's intriguing is that we start with the planets, but we might delve into a story. This could be a familial blockage, a current issue, or it could even lead to past life narratives. It depends on the questioner's system, what they allow, what they are curious about, and where they are in their journey. We can explore various layers accordingly.

Atomm: What are the advantages of planetary and horoscope setups and family constellations in terms of personal growth and healing?

Mikolta: Astrologers primarily engage in horoscope setups, incorporating their expertise. However, there are technical aspects that originate from family constellations, as the latter provided the inspiration. On the other hand, we can reach different layers, including family system blockages, through horoscope setups. There are more developed techniques for this, enabling us to step out of the system and facilitate healing more effectively. So, with horoscope setups, we can bring a lot of awareness and harmonization to various aspects of our lives. We gain insight into what's happening within us and which archetypes are active in the physical realm. In family constellations, Bert Hellinger's resolution sentences allow us to delve deeper into the system, based on the Order of Love that he developed.

Atomm: What types of topics and questions can people expect to address through family constellations or horoscope setups?

Mikolta: The usual classics, I'd say! :) Questioners may want to improve their relationships with their partners, children, parents, or bosses. They may seek to understand their role in the world better, strive for better maternal situations, or uncover the hidden motives behind past events.

In family constellations, there are also specific topics, such as feeling like you don't belong or processing the loss of a twin.

Atomm: What advice would you give to those interested in horoscope setups or family constellations and looking to explore the possibilities in these areas?

Mikolta: I recommend that newcomers initially participate as representatives in family constellations or horoscope setups. This way, they'll feel firsthand what these methods are about and what they entail. If they resonate with them, it's worth coming with their own issues.

Yana Fortune Teller - The One Whom Before There Are No Secrets

 Welcome to another exciting interview. Today, we have Yana, a renowned fortune teller with special abilities in extrasensory perception and esoteric teaching, as our guest. I, Atomm, will be conducting the conversation. Our goal is to try and better understand Yana's fascinating life journey and passions.

Atomm: How did you get to where you are today in your career and life?

Yana: The journey has been quite long. It all began with college seances. One day, a friend of mine handed me a book by Eileen Holland titled "Witchcraft Today." Receiving that book changed a lot for me. I started exploring religion and began buying and studying books on esoteric, spiritual topics, Wicca, and divination. I believe everything unfolded naturally from there.

I applied to a website to write esoteric articles about my experiences, and I started doing readings there simultaneously. I got to know my colleagues, one of whom invited me to appear as a Hungarian psychic on TV, and another invited me to join an international online psychic platform in English. This led to more opportunities, including appearances on other Hungarian and English websites.

I was invited to events as a guest psychic, featured in an article in a women's magazine, and even received an offer to host a show on another TV channel.

In 2019, I received a Certificate of Excellence nationally as a psychic and esoteric teacher.

Along the way, I left several positions to focus primarily on my own websites. The journey has been long, and it's not over yet. However, I had to leave jobs where everything revolved around deception and misleading people. I couldn't mislead my clients by claiming there were curses or spirits on them when there weren't, or lie in other ways to increase my income. I believe we should never deceive anyone who comes to us with their trust.

Atomm: What is the most important goal you'd like to achieve in your life?

Yana: I have many plans and I'm working on them. Building my Hungarian and international websites with reputable psychics, advisors, and esoteric articles. Promoting the Wicca religion and the Order of the Golden Dragons in Hungary and internationally. I would like Wicca to be accepted in our country, and I want to do more for environmental conservation.

But as a typical Gemini, in addition to all this, I'm interested in learning programming and web design.

These days, I have very little time for myself. But when I do, I enjoy learning languages, cooking, and baking.

Atomm: Do you have any special hobbies or passions you'd like to share with us?

Yana: When I had more free time, I used to paint and read books.

Atomm: What advice would you give to those who want to pursue a similar career path as you?

Yana: Special advice? I'm not sure how special it is, but I would say always, under all circumstances, remain true to your humanity. Don't try to harm or curse anyone, even if the client requests it. Remember that what goes around comes around, not just for those who ask but also for you.

Another important unwritten rule is confidentiality. Couples, family members, and friends may seek your services. I never disclose to one party what I've predicted for the other, as this can lead to significant problems.

Atomm: What is the strangest question you've ever been asked in your line of work?

Yana: Once, I conducted a curse check for an American client. I didn't know the street where the client lived, but I sensed it was in the same neighborhood as someone the client mentioned, and I had a rough idea of its size and appearance. To my surprise, I recognized the location. There was another case where an acquaintance asked me to locate a photograph. I just knew and saw where it was, and indeed, it was there. I had never been to that place. There was also a request to locate car keys, and I succeeded. But clairvoyance or clear seeing doesn't always happen. I can't force it; it comes or it doesn't.

Atomm: Who is the person who inspires you the most, and why?

Yana: There's no one I follow or consider a role model. It might sound strange, but I want to live my life in a way that sets an example for others. However, as I wrote that, two important individuals came to mind. Diana, Princess of Wales, for her humanity, helpfulness, and friendliness. The other is Arnold Schwarzenegger, who, on a bad day, gives me strength. He proved that coming from a neighboring country, he could make it to California from nothing and achieve great things there. He inspires many to believe that with determination, strength, and willpower, we can achieve our dreams. We should focus on ourselves and not be concerned if not everyone believes in us; we should believe in ourselves.

In the quest to understand the origins of the universe, one intriguing perspective has emerged: the idea that the universe is not a random occurrence, but rather the result of a higher intelligence at work. This concept does not necessarily clash with existing religions; it accommodates both polytheistic and monotheistic beliefs. Moreover, this perspective aligns with scientific observations, such as the Fibonacci sequence, which hint at a profound intelligence shaping the fabric of our reality.

The notion of a higher intelligence in the creation of the universe doesn't seek to undermine scientific principles, but rather to enrich our understanding of the cosmos. It's important to note that this perspective doesn't advocate for a specific religious dogma; rather, it embraces the idea that various belief systems can coexist harmoniously under the umbrella of an intelligent universe.

One fascinating element that supports this perspective is the Fibonacci sequence. This sequence is a series of numbers in which each number is the sum of the two preceding ones: 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, and so on. This sequence is prevalent in nature, appearing in the arrangement of leaves on stems, the spirals of galaxies, the pattern of sunflower seeds, and even the structure of seashells. The presence of the Fibonacci sequence suggests an inherent order and intention in the design of the natural world.

While skeptics might argue that the Fibonacci sequence is merely a mathematical coincidence, its widespread occurrence across vastly different scales of existence is quite astonishing. This begs the question: Could such a consistent and intricate pattern emerge purely by chance, or does it point to a deliberate design?

In a polytheistic framework, the various deities could represent different aspects of the higher intelligence responsible for creation. In a monotheistic context, the intricate design of the universe could reflect the singular divine mind at work. Thus, this perspective embraces the diversity of belief systems, offering a unifying explanation for the origins of the universe.

It's important to emphasize that considering a higher intelligence behind the universe doesn't negate the role of science. In fact, it complements scientific exploration by inviting us to contemplate the deeper meanings behind the natural phenomena we study. The pursuit of knowledge and understanding, both through scientific inquiry and philosophical reflection, can coexist harmoniously within this perspective.
